Member-Initiated Events

This section has volunteer opportunities that are not organized by AGS. They are entirely self-initiated events.
You sign yourself up directly with the event organizers, volunteer under their supervision, and turn in proof to our recording secretary in order to get credit. We'll usually specify with the event organizer what constitutes proof.
These events are good for if your schedule prevents you from attending our own community service events. Sign up for these events and help out the community even more. Please note, all these events count for CS hours.
09/14 - 09/15 - USC Blood Drive

Place: Quad

On September 14 and 15, there will be a USC truck stationed at the Quad. Basically, you go donate blood and they'll give you a receipt after you donated; you submit the receipt to us and you'll get 1CS hour.
How to get your 1CS hour:
[*]Put your first name, last name and ID on the back of the receipt.
[*]Turn the receipt into our AGS box in the student affairs office no later than 12:30pm on September 17th.
[*]You get 1 CS hour.
Also, they usually give out t-shirts or souvenirs. The best gift, however, is the satisfaction of knowing that with your help you may be saving many lives.

Jimmy's Marathon run for Cancer!

Our Marketing Director, Jimmy Stafford, is currently training with Team in Training for a marathon and raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Tyler, age 7, is one of the Team in Training's honor teammate. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and Leukemia 3 years ago. He is the reason why we raise money. He is an inspiration as he battles cancer everyday with a smile.
I am raising $3,200 by myself and our team will raise about $150,000 total.
You can help a couple ways:
-Members who donate at least $10 will receive 1 CS hour
-Members who donate $5 will receive 1/2 CS hour
*Checks are excepted and made out to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Please email, or post in forum any questions. Deadline for money is September 24th.
